Gift Acceptance Policy
Humanity and Health Foundation (HHF) welcomes contributions that support our mission and values.
This policy provides guidance on the acceptance of gifts to ensure integrity, compliance, and donor trust.
Purpose & Principles
- Accept gifts that align with HHF’s mission and ethical standards.
- Maintain donor intent and appropriate restrictions where applicable.
- Reject gifts that could compromise independence, safety, or public trust.
- Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and reporting requirements.
Types of Gifts Accepted
- Cash, checks, and online donations
- Corporate contributions and sponsorships (subject to review)
- In-kind donations (goods or services) that support HHF’s work
- Restricted gifts and grants aligned with approved programs (subject to compliance)
Restricted Gifts
HHF may accept restricted gifts when the restriction aligns with HHF’s mission, approved programs, and operational capacity to comply with reporting requirements. HHF documents restricted funds and reports to donors as appropriate.
Gifts Requiring Review
- Gifts with complex restrictions, unusual conditions, or reputational risk
- In-kind donations requiring specialized storage, handling, or maintenance
- Gifts that could create conflicts of interest or compromise HHF’s independence
Receipts & Acknowledgments
HHF provides acknowledgments for donations. Donors are responsible for obtaining tax advice regarding deductibility.
HHF does not provide legal or tax advice.
