2021 Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Three Days Conference

Theme: The Role of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Business Membership Organisations (BMOs) in Enhancing the Capacity and Sustainability of the MSMEs Sector in Nigeria.

The primary objective of this year’s webinar is to provide a private sector-led platform that will stimulate robust stakeholders’ discussions on how Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Business Membership Organisations can contribute to growth and sustainability of the MSMEs sector in Nigeria.

The aim is to:
Address the strategic importance of NGOs and Business Membership Organisation to develop the MSMEs sector in Nigeria.
Create a forum for stakeholders, policy-makers from the public and private sectors, experts, and practitioners from both local and international establishments
Discuss and proffer solutions to the lingering challenges facing MSMEs in Nigeria.

Other objectives of the webinar are:

  • To discuss the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on MSMEs in Nigeria and the effect of the various FGN-led Interventions;
  • To equip NGOs and BMOs with survey and research findings on the MSMEs ecosystem in Nigeria and the focus areas for interventions; and
  • To provide robust discussion on the Nigerian new MSMEs Policy framework.

Sir Prince ‘Degun Agboade is the National President of the Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises. He is a seasoned pharmaceutical industrialist and entrepreneurship mentor and SME consultant. He also has vast experience in administration and human resources management having worked for diverse institutions and organizations in Nigeria.
Prince Degun has served on several advisory panels and committees on Small and Medium Enterprises within and outside Nigeria.

Michael Elikwu Ph.D. (Strategic Entrepreneurship Management), MAMN

Chairman Committee on Capacity Building at Nigeria Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME) Abuja FCT Chapter.

Dr. Michael Elikwu is a Strategist, Entrepreneur, Lecturer, Trainer, Resource Facilitator, HR, and Research Consultant.

Biodun Abel

Biodun Bolorunduro Abel BSc. MSc.

Biodun is an accomplished banking professional and management consultant with more than 18 years of experience in banking operations, internal control, process improvement, strategic& financial advisory, risk management, and marketing for diverse financial institutions. He is presently the Managing Partner of Zenith Analytics and Management Consulting Limited.

He graduated with BSc in Statistics from the University of Ibadan and an MSc in Statistics with a specialization in Econometrics from the same institution.  Biodun has been actively involved in strategic leadership training, capacity building, and strategic business transformation for SMEs, MDAs, and microfinance institutions in Nigeria.

Biodun is a seasoned Agribusiness Policy Specialist and international development professional with expertise in Policy and Strategic leadership, Human Resources and Investment management, and Business process transformation with a primary focus on change management and organizational transformation in the public, private and international (donor) agencies clientele portfolio. He actively manages existing relationships with the development of new opportunities (commercial tendering & JV contracts).

Muritala Olotu Michael

Muritala is the managing partner and founder of Shitah Consulting Nigeria Limited. He is a Certified Forensic Examiner of the America Institute of Forensic Examiners, an Associate Member of ICAN, and a seasoned banker with more than 18 years of experience. He has extensive practical experience in Financial Advisory Services, Management Consulting, and Forensic Audit, and has led and implemented revenue loss recovery for reputable private and public institutions.

Muritala holds an MBA from Bayero University Kano and has attended executive education courses on Negotiating Skills, Enterprise Risk Management, and Internal Control.

Rebecca Ajibola

Ms. Rebecca Ajibola BSN. MPH is a Public Health Professional. A mother and a grandmother, she acquired her initial education at Ogun State University College of Education in Nigeria. Studied Mental Health Nursing in the United Kingdom, where she also took an active role in World Harvest Christian Center administration and ministerial work.

Graduated with a Master’s in Public Health at the Walden University and now works with the DeKalb County Board of Health, Infectious Disease & Surveillance Department in the State of Georgia.

She says her interest in Public Health stems from her experience as a Mental Health practitioner. “We often witness repeated monthly re-admissions of clients termed “Revolving Door Syndrome,” of which I eventually did research, to see how one can prevent the readmission of patients. As a humanitarian, I believe firmly in Social Justice defined as “promoting a just society by challenging injustice and valuing diversity.” It exists when “all people share a common humanity and therefore have a right to equitable treatment, support for their human rights, and a fair allocation of community resources. A compassionate professional with an interest in investing in the lives of others “because some others got me to where I am today”.

She eventually founded the Humanity and Health Foundation. A non-profit organization making a difference in the lives of poor economically disadvantaged and underprivileged people.

HHF advocates for health literacy, health promotion, capacity building, and innovative ventures, to empower citizens, with an ultimate goal of being a valuable and productive member of their community making the right informed decisions for their lives.
